ippi uses an open, open-source protocol based on SIP technology. This is not the case for some competitors, who use a closed proprietary protocol or who use your bandwidth as a relay point on their network, even when you are not using the telephony service.
The advantages may depend on several factors, such as:
the compatibility of your phone equipment, very often SIP-compatible;
your country of residence;
cheaper rates and plans, better suited to your needs;
innovative services;
a no-commitment offer, like the one ippi provides.
You can order one in the country of your choice, on its own or with an unlimited plan (special offer). Depending on the country, local regulations may require a proof of residence.
The ippi service can be used worldwide with a fixed or mobile broadband internet connection. Some countries may however block VoIP. It is nevertheless possible to bypass this block with a VPN tunnel. Please check the regulations in force in your country.
